Ralph Anthony Smith

Ralph Anthony Smith (b. Warsaw, c. 1964 -- ) – Songwriter, singer, guitarist, and banjoist. Although born in Warsaw, Indiana, Smith grew up in Eastern Tennessee and moved to Kentucky in his mid 20s to perform with a series of bands. Later, Smith made his mark in Nashville with his album entitled If That Ain’t Country (Mercury Nashville, 2003), which included three charting singles. Although his solo career has not moved forward since then, he has become a very successful songwriter, as he has written hit songs for George Strait, Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry, Halfway to Hazard, and Confederate Railroad. Among his most famous songs are Strait’s “Run” (No. 2 on Billboard Hot Country Songs in 2001) and Gentry’s “What Do You Think About That" (No. 3 in 2007).
