Jack Everly

Jack Everly (b. Richmond) – Conductor and arranger. Born and raised in Richmond, Everly studied music and scenic design at Indiana University, and he furthered his studies at the Lester Polakov Studio of Stage Design in New York. For fourteen years, he was the music director of the American Ballet Theater, with which he gave a series of performances at Lincoln Center’s Metropolitan Opera House. His work with ABT also included fifty international tours and appearances on PBS specials. Currently, Everly is the principal pops conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, which he has led since 2002. He is also the musical director of the Symphonic Pops Consortium, which is a division of the ISO and creates theatrical pops programs that can be reproduced by other orchestras. No stranger to music theater, he has conducted numerous Broadway productions, sometimes in collaboration with Marvin Hamlisch. In addition to his many credits on compact disc, he conducted the musical selections for Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame. Formerly a resident of New York City, Everly now lives on the Northwest side of Indianapolis near Eagle Creek Park. In 2015, Everly was awarded the Indiana Historical Society's Living Legend Award.
