John O'Banion

John O’Banion (b. Kokomo, February 16, 1947 – d. Los Angeles, February 14, 2007) – Singer and actor. A native of Kokomo, O’Banion performed in theatrical productions by age thirteen, and, at the same age, played with a local band called Hog Honda and the Chain Dogs. By age twenty, he had hosted his own local radio and television programs. After breaking into the music business as a regular guest entertainer on the Johnny Carson Show in 1978, pop singer John O’Banion took “Love You Like I Never Loved Before” to #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 1982 and had other minor hits spread throughout his three albums from 1981 to 1983. His success as a singer also coincided with appearances in film (big screen and television). After a ten-year hiatus from recording, he returned in the 1990s but never matched his earlier success.
