Joy Lynn White

Joy Lynn White (b. Arkansas, July 24, 1961 - ) -- Singer and songwriter. Raised in Mishiwaka, Joy Lynn White started singing at age five with a family band that was led by her guitar-playing father Gene White. After moving to Nashville, she signed with Columbia Records in 1992 and the following year was nominated by the Academy of Country Music as the "Top New Female Vocalist." From 1992 to 2005, she released five studio albums and put four singles on Billboard's "Hot Country Songs" chart. "Tue Confession" was her highest charting single at #45. Two songs from her debut album were later recorded by the Dixie Chicks. Although she did not reach star status in American country music, she has had a following in Europe and has sung back-up vocals and albums of Dwight Yoakum and Lucinda Williams.
