Josh Kaufman

Josh Kaufman (b. Sarasota, Florida, November 9, 1976 - ) -- Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist. Kaufman became instantly famous by participating in and eventually winning season six of the Voice on NBC on May 20, 2014. At age thirty-eight, he was the oldest winner in the show's history as well as the first from Team Usher, the first "stolen Contestant" (originally on Team Adam), and the first Caucasian male. After growing in Lake Wales, Florida, Kaufman moved during his Freshmen year in high school to Blacksburg, Virginia. He was always involved in music, and he was on Star Search at age sixteen. For college, he moved to Indiana to attend Anderson College and then IUPUI. Since then, he has resided in the Indianapolis area and currently lives in Carmel. In 2010, he started a soul band called Josh Kaufman and the Frequency, which turned into The New Etiquette. Since his reality show win, he released a self-titled six-song EP and has success on Broadway. He was the last person to play the title role in the revival of Pippin, which ended in early 2015, and he also performed in Home for the Holidays: Live on Broadway November and December of 2017 at the August Wilson Theatre. In May and June of 2019, his band will play several dates at Indy's Jazz Kitchen followed by some dates in the state of Washington.
