Cherie Oakley

Cherie Oakley -- Singer and songwriter. Born in Crawfordsville, Cherie Oakley had a peripatetic upbringing, as her parents were evangelists. Throughout her childhood and adolescence, she gained a wealth of experience singing in churches and at fairs and festivals. At age ten, she appeared on Star Search. Ten years later, she settled in Nashville and sang back-up for Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride and Amy Grant. In 2010, she was a co-writer of Reba McEntire's "Turn on the Radio," which went to #1 on Billboard's "Hot Country Singles" chart. Within the same year, Oakley was a contestant on NBC's The Voice. Under contract with Number One Group since 2017, she is working on an EP, from which she released the single "Work It." Oakley has also published several popular YouTube covers of hits by Kelly Clarkston, Imagine Dragons, Christina Auguilera, and Blake Shelton.
