Kurt Gemein-hardt

Kurt G. GemeinhardtFlute maker and manufacturer. A fourth generation German flute maker, Kurt Gemeinhardt moved to the United States in the 1920s to design flutes for George Bundy of the Selmer Company in New York City. In 1948, Gemeinhardt started manufacturing his own line of professional-model flutes. His company expanded to include a wide range of silver flutes in 1952, when he moved his operations to Elkhart, Indiana. Currently, the Gemeinhardt Company is the world’s leading producer of flutes and piccolos.
