Tommy Lam

Tommy Lam (b. 1935 - d. 1995) Singer-songwriter. Backed by Bob Pauley and the Plantation Playboys, Tommy Lam recorded a 45 on the Indianapolis Nabor label in 1959, and its B side "Speed Limit" is a rockabilly gem. As a testament to the success of "Speed Limit," Randy Richter published a YouTube tutorial on how to play the song. This particular record, which also includes the ballad "Teenage Birthday," is a collector's item and contains a 4 by 6 picture of Tommy Lam. With Glenn Douglass and His Orchestra and the Monograms, Lam recorded "Blue Willow"/"Teenagers Dream" with Indy's Randall Music in 1962. Especially on "Speed Limit," Lam has a smooth, soulful voice very similar to that of Elvis.
