Lori Mecham

Lori Mecham – (b. Anderson - ) – Pianist, composer, and educator. Anderson native of graduate of Ball State University, Lori Mecham has worked in Nashville since 1988. There, she has directed musicals, led her own jazz quartet, and, with her husband Roger Spencer, created Nashville’s first jazz school called the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Mecham’s solo CD Welcome to Brazil received a nomination for Best Jazz Album of the Year at the Nashville Music Awards of 1997. In 2006, the Lori Mecham Quartet recorded a live album with saxophonist Pete Christlieb, and it peaked at #8 on the jazz charts.
