Kyle Cook (Matchbox Twenty)

Kyle Cook (b. Frankfort, August 29, 1975 - ) – guitarist, singer, and songwriter. After playing violin for five years, Cook started playing guitar around age thirteen and played in a local band called Downpour, which entertained at Frankfort High School’s prom. After high school, he studied guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music and in 1996 joined Matchbox Twenty, with whom he is the lead guitarist and a back-up vocalist. Periodically, he takes time away from Matchbox Twenty to reunite with his high school friends of Downpour. The current manifestation of Downpour is called The New Left. He has also taken time away recently to record his debut album Wolves (2018) and take a subsequent tour.
