Darren Dowler

Darren Dowler (b. Indianapolis -- ) – Singer, songwriter, guitarist, dancer, and actor. Darren Dowler is the son of Danny Dollar (Dowler), who was Indy’s version of Elvis in the 1950s, and Darlene Dollar (Early), well-known singer on the night club circuit in Indy and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. Although born in Indianapolis, Daren Dowler got his start in music as a teenager in Daytona Beach. At age eighteen, he moved to Westport, Connecticut, and started his own band. At the Westport Playhouse, he combined his musical abilities with his developing skills by playing the lead in a production of Grease. Later on Broadway, he played Elvis on Elvis: An American Musical. Dowler has also appeared in several television shows including as the World Turns, Swamp Thing, Boston Legal, and Desperate Housewives. As a musician, he has been a member of his mother’s group Tyme (80s) and the Lettermen, a legendary vocal group that he joined in 1995. In fact, The Lettermen was inducted in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001, while Dowler was their high tenor. Currently, he performs with Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers and Paul Revere and the Raiders. He is also headlines the show Rock and Roll Live, which has received rave reviews for Dowler’s spot-on vocals of classic hits. The multi-talented Dowler is also a famous night club performer, particularly in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Orlando. Not only does he incorporate a wide variety of impersonations (singers and actors) into his stage routine, but he also does professional voiceovers. In addition, he is an accomplished songwriter in various styles (including country and folk), a skilled guitarist, and an expert dancer in jazz, modern and hip-hop. Lastly, he owns an LA acting school called The Actor Shop (originally in Orlando).
