Donald Kinsey

Donald Kinsey (b. Gary, May 12, 1953 - ) Taught by his dad to play the guitar at age four, Donald Kinsey grew up performing in a family band that eventually became the Kinsey Report (1984), which was at first led by his father, “Big Daddy” Kinsey. Previously in the 1970s, Donald and brothers Ralph (drums) and Kenneth (bass) formed a jazz-rock trio White Lightnin’. Without the father, the three brothers recorded Edge of the City, which was nominated for three W.C. Handy awards. (Another member of Kinsey Report was Lester “Mad Dog” Davenport, who played in 1953 with Bo Diddley.) As a guitarist, Donald Kinsey also played with Bob Marley and Albert King.
