Jack Bradshaw

Jack Brashaw (b. Harlan County, Kentucky, March 29, 1930 - ) -- Singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Raised in Tennessee, Bradshaw performed with his own group called the Tennessee Ramblers and, in 1949, moved to LaPorte, Indiana, his home base for the next sixty years. It was there that he put together his Tennessee Three. He played locally and developed a rapport with promoter Harry Glenn of Mar-Vel Records in Hammond. He recorded four singles on Mar-Vel, and one of them, "Searching," was covered by Kitty Wells. A cover of his song "Don't Tease Me" by Carl Smith went to #18 on the Country & Western charts. This exposure landed a him a deal with Decca in 1954, but it unfortunately fell through sending him back to Harry Glenn. He continued to release country singles and even gave rockabilly a shot with "Naughty Girls" (see below) in 1958. From 1960 to 1984, he worked for Bud Automotive in Gary and continued with music as a hobby.
