J.T. Corenflos

Jerry T. Corenflos (b. Terre Haute, November 6, 1963 - ) – Guitarist. Although not a household name across the country, J.T. Corenflos is one of Nashville’s most sought-after session guitarists, whose work can be heard on songs by Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Brooks and Dunn, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, George Jones, and Hank Williams Jr. In addition, he played on Luke Bryan's Tailgates and Tanlines (2011), which made it to #1 Billboard's Country Album chart. Non-country artists with whom he has worked include Bob Seger, Jewel, Jessica Simpson, and Richard Marx. In 2015, J.T. released an instrumental solo album Somewhere Under the Radar, which includes an homage to Terre Haute in a snappy little shuffle called "Cruisin' the Bash" (see above). He has worked in Nashville since 1982, the same year that he graduated from Terre Haute North High School. Before devoting his time to session work around 1994, he played in the bands of Jean Shepard (Capital), Joe Stampley (Epic), the Fantastic Blue Tick Hounds, and Palomino Road. In his Terre Haute teen-age days, he jumped at any gig imaginable, and he played with a popular rock band Goliath. As for career accolades, Corenflos has been nominated eight times for "Guitarist of the Year" by the Academy of Country Music, and he is consistently featured in Music Row Magazine, "Top 5 Guitarists."
