Timothy Showalter (Strand of Oaks)

Timothy Showalter (b. Goshen, July 20, 1982 - ) -- Singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Timothy Showalter uses the name Strand of Oaks for his songwriting project. Born and raised in Goshen, Showalter moved to Pennsylvania following high school and is currently based in Philadelphia. Showalter's songs sometimes only consist of him accompanying himself on electric guitar. As producer of his own music, he sometimes adds synthesizer to the final mix. His rock style also lends itself to the use of a full band, as in Dark Shores (2012). Since 2009, he has cut seven studio albums, and the last two have included singles that have charted on "Adult Alternative Songs." His most recent album Eraserland, backed by members of My Morning Jacket, spawned the single "Ruby," which he recently performed on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert with an all star backing band of Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, and members of My Morning Jacket. Starting in July, 2019, Strand of Oaks will embarked on an extensive Eraserland tour, which included some dates in Europe.
