Mousie Alexander

Elmer “Mousey” Alexander (b. Gary, June 19, 1922 – d. Longwood, Florida, October 9, 1988) – Drummer. A student at the Ray Knapp School in Chicago, Alexander began his career in the “Windy City” playing with a group led by Jimmy McPartland. Throughout a four-decade career, he worked with Billie Holiday, Eddie Condon, Bud Freeman, Clark Terry, Red Norvo, Sy Oliver, and Doc Severinsen. He also joined Benny Goodman for a tour of the Far East in 1956.
