Adrianne Lenker

Adrianne Lenker (b. Indianapolis, July 1, 1991 - ) -- Singer, songwriter and guitarist. Adrianne Lenker was born into a religious cult in Indianapolis, and her family moved to the Minneapolis area at about age four. Writing music as early as age ten, her musician father wanted to groom her into a child pop star, but she always wanted something more real and self-reflective. She recorded some solo material in 2006 and then attended the Berklee School of Music, from which he graduated in 2012. Since 2015, she has been the lead singer and songwriter of the indie rock band Big Thief, which is based in Brooklyn. Big Thief has already produced three albums and has toured tirelessly. Nonetheless, she has released two solo albums: Hours Were the Birds (2014) and, during a very short break from Big Thief, Abysskiss (2018).
