Isaac Doles

Isaac Doles (b. c. 1853 – d. 1927) – Songwriter, composer, organist, and pianist. Issac Doles was a well-known composer and musician in Indianapolis. He had a knack for publishing and re-publishing songs (sometimes with appropriate modifications) with local and contemporary subject matter. Two such works were “Back to Dear Old Indianapolis” (1905) and the “Indianapolis Centennial March” (1920). Doles’s published songs span from at least the early 1890s to the early to mid 1920s. His sentimental song entitled “My Sweetheart of Years Ago” sold well locally in sheet music form. Dole was a member of the Decatur Lodge, No. 103, in Greensburg and dedicated at least one work to that establishment.
