Tim Grimm

Tim Grimm (b. Columbus, September 27, 1960 - ) – Singer, songwriter, actor, and hay-farmer. After distinguishing himself as an up and coming singer-songwriter on the folk music circuit in the 1980s, Tim Grimm pursued an acting career in Hollywood in the 1990s and made numerous appearances on television (namely on ReasonableDoubts, 1992-93) and film, including a role in Clear and Present Danger (1994) starring Harrison Ford. In the last couple decades, he has returned to Indiana (Columbus area), where he performs and records his own songs, many of which are based on life experiences. His storytelling approach and poignant lyrics have earned him critical acclaim. For example, he has won awards in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the American Songwriting Competition, and the Just Plain Folks Music Awards in Los Angeles. Not only does he collaborate with other Hoosier songwriters, such as Carrie Newcomer, Krista Detor, Tom Roznowski, and Michael White, but he has also shared the stage with good friend Ramblin’ Jack Elliot and Richard Thompson. Currently with Wind River Records, he has produced ten solo CDs since 2000. The most recent is A Stranger in This Time (2017), which includes the "family band"--his wife and two sons. In 2016, the "family band" recorded a single called "Woody's Landlord," which was #1 on Folk radio in 2016. Grimm's song "King of the Folksingers" had the same distinction in 2014. For the remainder of 2019 and into 2020, he has a very busy concert schedule, playing throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to his activities as a folk musician, he also farms, writes music for theater, and continues to act (mainly in Chicago).
