Rosemary Patricia "Pebe" Sebert (b. Michigan City, March 17, 1956 - ) -- Singer and songwriter. Sebert spent her early years on a farm and showed an interest in music, eventually studying at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. Better known as a songwriter rather than as a performer, she co-wrote "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You" with then-husband Hugh Moffatt, and it became a hit for three artists between 1978 to 1980. Included on Dolly, Dolly, Dolly (1980), Dolly Parton took it to #1 on Billboard's country chart. In addition, it was recently covered again by her daughter Kesha, a well-known pop artist since 2009. To top it off, Kesha and Dolly also recorded the song together (see below). The older Sebert has writing credits on over fifteen of Kesha's songs, including the #1 hit "Your Love is My Drug."
