Wayman Tisdale

Wayman Tisdale (b. Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 9, 1964 - ) – Jazz bassist. Picked No. 2 by the Indiana Pacers behind Patrick Ewing in the 1985 NBA draft, Tisdale had a stellar college career at the University of Oklahoma and a respectable professional career. After averaging over 15 points per game in a twelve-year NBA career—five with the Pacers—he turned to contemporary jazz as a bassist. Beginning with Power Forward (1995), Tisdale has released seven full-length CDs. A recognized talent in the world of smooth jazz, Tisdale was the front man of his bands, as he played melodic bass.
