Aura: Faint Abjuration; CL: 9th

Slot: Ring; Price: 40,000 gp (for a pair); Wgt: -

Special Notes / Rules: Dragonmarked

Source: ECB, pg. 263

Description:

These silver and iron rings are always adorned with a single Siberys dragonshard attuned to the Mark of Sentinel and are always created in mated pairs. As the purpose of the rings is to create a sympathetic connection between the wearers, both rings must be worn, each on a separate individual, and at least one of those individuals must have the Mark of Sentinel.

When the wearer that has the Mark of the Sentinel uses his Shield Other dragonmarked spell-like on the person that is wearer the other ring of the mated pair, the range on the Shield Other is unlimited and the wearer with the Mark of Sentinel gains a form of damage reduction concerning any damage done through the Shield Other spell-like effect, based on the strength of his dragonmark. Least provides damage reduction of 1/-. Lesser provides 2/-. Greater provides 3/- and those with the Siberys dragonmark of Sentinel gain damage reduction of 5/-.

This benefit does not apply to any Shield Other spell that the wearer might cast, only the Shield Other dragonmarked spell-like ability. Likewise, these rings do not alter the benefits of Shield Other in any other way, although two wearers with the Mark of Sentinel using Shield Other on each other do both get the appropriate damage reduction from the other's damage.

Construction Requirements: Forge Ring, Enlarge Spell, Shield Other, creator must have the Mark of Sentinel.

Construction Cost: 16,000 gp; 2 Siberys dragonshards worth at least 2,000 gp each.
