By channeling the spirit of an ancient warrior into a melee weapon, it gains the following benefits.

  • The weapon is considered good aligned for the purposes of damage reduction.

  • The threat range of the weapon doubles, as per Keen Weapon, except that this can be placed on any kind of melee weapon and it does stack with the Improved Critical feat (but not with the actual keen weapon quality).

  • The weapon does an additional 2d6 points of damage to evil creatures (or 2d10 on a confirmed critical hit). Against evil outsiders or undead, this additional damage improves to 2d8 (or 2d12 on a confirmed critical hit).

  • If the weapon scores a confirmed critical hit on an evil opponent, that opponent must make a Will save or be blinded and deafened for 1d4 rounds. Spell resistance does apply.

    • If the weapon scores a confirmed critical hit on an evil outsider, that evil outsider must make a Will save or be banished to its home plane for 24 hours. Spell resistance does apply.

This spell counts as a limited form of possession and can be ended by any effect that would stop a possession. Use the caster's statistics for resisting an exorcism, even though he is not actually in the weapon.
