Undying Councilor

This mummified elf stands before you, calm and sure. Its wrappings and robes are spotless, vibrant shapes of green, purple and white. The leathery skin of its face is stretched so tightly that the shape of its cheek bones and eye sockets are clearly visible. While holding a golden cane, it regards your presence with simultaneous respect and disdain; the dull whites of its eyes carrying the polite impatience of the eternal.

Like other disease-like curses, this one needs a successful application of Break Enchantment or Remove Curse (caster level check DC 20), followed by a Remove Disease. This ability does not affect good or neutral creatures and the saving throw is Charisma-based.

The position of an Undying Councilor is what the truly wise and respected among the elves can expect to become after death. While only a handful are chosen from each generation, the ranks of Undying Councilors have been remained for multiple thousands of years, becoming the bulk of the Undying Court. Acting as emissaries, diplomats and historians to the Ascendant Councilors, this is the kind of deathless creature that those who wish an audience with the Undying Court will speak with.

While not as powerful as the Ascendant Councilors, Undying Councilors are still a force to respect. As a side effect of their position, they are more likely to come into conflict and use their spell-like abilities to dispatch attackers, rather than discourage them. Typically, use of their Righteous Might ability is followed by a Dispel Evil or Greater Command, based on the particular foe. Their Blade Barrier ability is only used to protect themselves and others from an overwhelming number of foes.
