This spell renders as many as three deathless creatures immobile. Non-intelligent deathless creatures do not get a saving throw, but intelligent deathless creatures do. If the spell is successful, it renders the deathless creature immobile for the duration of the spell (similar to the effects of Hold Person on a living creature). The effect is broken if the halted creatures are attacked or take damage.
