Scorrow

A jet black warrior, the upper half of a lithe, lethal drow and the lower half as a massive scorpion with a stinger that reaches over his shoulder. The sickening green venom that drips from its barbed hook is also laced over both of the wicked underhand knives. Thankfully, for as terrifying as his appearance over the ravine is, it appears the trio of hill giants behind you have turned their attention to new combatant.... and responded by scattering in a panic.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:

Favored Enemies (Ex): Scorrow have favored enemies, as per the ranger class feature of the same name, of +4 against giants and animals and +2 against magical beasts. This stacks with other sources of favored enemies.

Poison Use (Ex): Scorrow never risk poisoning themselves when applying poison to their weapons. A scorrow any reapply the poison from his sting to one of his weapons as a standard action that does provoke.

Scorpion Empathy (Ex): Scorrow have wild empathy, as per the druid class feature of the same name, but only with scorpions. The scorrow uses their Hit Dice in place of druid levels, giving the base scorrow a wild empathy modifier of +11. This stacks with other sources of wild empathy that applies to scorpions.

Standing Jump (Ex): Scorrow are always considered to have a running start, even when they are standing still.

Undersized Weapons (Ex): Scorrow use weapons suited for Medium creatures and the reach appropriate to Medium creatures.

ECOLOGY:

The drow elves of the jungles of Xen'Drik worship scorpions and their eldest hunting spirit is Vulkoor, the Scorpion. Occasionally, he will bless one of the tribes with a scorrow child. Born as a fusing of drow and scorpion, armed with venomous stinger, they quickly grow into solitary or pack predators of the forgotten jungles. Like their drow cousins, scorrow have a hatred of giants that rivals genocide and usually have quite a collection of successful hunts.
