This spell is cast on a creature that is to be protected from scrying. While the target of the spell does not get a saving throw or have to check for spell resistance, anytime the target is within 10' of a scrying sensor, the spell immediately triggers back onto the would-be scryer. The scryer takes 1d6 points of untyped damage per caster level (max. 15d6) and is blinded for 1 minute (which prevents seeing through the sensor). A successful Will save halves the same and negates the blinded condition. If the scryer has spell resistance, it would apply for this part of the effect.

Regardless of whether or not the effect actually affects the scryer, the backlash disrupts the scrying attempt itself, requiring the scryer to make a caster or manifester level check, DC 11 + your caster level, or have the effect dispelled. The protected creature is immediately aware of when a Scry Trap is triggered, although he does not learn the specifics of where the sensor was, the identity of the would-be scryer or if the scrying effect was dispelled.
