By taking a standard action to concentrate on a single creature within 60' that you can see, you instantly know if that creature is capable of changing its form through the use of an extraordinary or supernatural ability and, if it is currently in a form other that its true form, what the creature's true from really is. This only applies to extraordinary (as rare as those might be) and supernatural abilities, not spells, powers, spell-like or psi-like abilities. It does, however, see clearly through any method used to disguise the creature's true form, regardless of if the supernatural ability mimics the polymorph subschool, as in the case of the Change Shape supernatural ability, or illusion-like effects, like the Mock ability of the Mockinfey.

If the creature examined is currently in its true form, the spell only reveals that is capable of changing forms, not what forms it can take or other special qualities those forms might give. If the creature examined is not capable of changing its form through the use of an extraordinary or supernatural ability, this spells reveals it as well.
