This spell can only be cast on creatures that are possessed by an outside entity, as per the Outsiders & Possession rules. If successful, the outsider that is currently possessing the host is actually trapped inside the host and cannot leave, voluntarily or otherwise, even if the host is dead. Further, any damage (hit point damage, ability damage, ability drain and conditions) done to the host is also duplicated to the invading entity if the invading entity is not somehow otherwise immune to it. Any elemental resistances or immunities that the invading entity has that the host does not do not apply to this damage, since the invading entity is without a physical form to resist. If this would somehow kill the entity before the host dies, the invading entity is dead and the spell automatically ends.

While this spell is of a higher level than other methods of dealing with possession, this spell undoes the common tactic by possessing entities leaving immediately so critical information cannot be learned.
