By sacrificing some of your own health, you are able to briefly channel more energy in your next spell. This spells deals 1 point of Constitution damage to you per caster level, to a maximum of 10 points at 10th level. For every 2 points of Constitution damage done, rounded up, the next spell you cast within this round gains a bonus to its caster level of +1, to a maximum of +5 at 10th level. If the Constitution damage cannot be inflicted, or is somehow healed before the next spell is cast, the benefit to the caster level is lost. Thus, creatures without a Constitution score gain no benefit from this spell.

The Constitution damage done by this spell affects you normally and is healed normally. For casters with low Constitution, this spell is a form of magical suicide, although dying from this Constitution damage does not occur until the end of the round, giving you the opportunity to cast that one last great spell.
