You can sense the presence of a dragonmark, true or aberrant as per the Dragonmark Feats, or items specifically attuned to dragonmarks, as per the Dragonmarked magical item rules. The longer you concentrate on dragonmark, the more information you gain about it.

1st round: The presence of one or more dragonmarks.

2nd round: The number and type (true or aberrant) of dragonmarks within the area effect, whether they are on creatures or objects and the strength of the strongest dragonmark within the area of effect.

3rd round: The location, strength (Least, Lesser, Greater or Siberys) and, for true dragonmarks, the specific mark (Detection, Handling, Making, etc) for each dragonmark within the area of effect.

4th+ round. Once per round, you can, with a successful Spellcraft check, determine exactly what kind of spell-like abilities a dragonmark has or what qualities of a specific dragonmark item has. The DC for dragonmark items is the same 15 + caster level of the item. The DC for the Spellcraft check to examine dragonmarks on people is 15 for Least dragonmarks, 20 for Lesser, 25 for Greater and 30 for Siberys. If you beat the DC to examine a dragonmark by 5 or more, you also learn which uses the dragonmark still has available for the remainder of the day.

This spell can penetrate barriers, but 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks it.
