By draining some from the necromantic energy that keeps an undead creature active, the caster inflicts damage equal to 5 hit points per caster level to the undead creature. A successful Will save halves the damage. The caster also gains a number of temporary hit points equal to the amount of damage actually done to the creature. These temporary hit points last for one hour. This spell is often used by living necromancers on their own undead (which can be commanded to fail their Will save and lower their spell resistance), knowing that other sources of negative energy can later repair their minions. Multiple castings of this spell do stack.
