Moonspeaker

Description:

Moonspeakers are the traditional spirital leaders of the shifters and, before them, the lycanthropes. Their heritage and teachings have been passed down from generation to generation from time before the werebeasts of old could remember. Given the tie between the moons in the night sky and the powers of planar magic that effects Eberron, moonspeakers learn early on how to blend the two. At each stage of their education, a moonspeaker often spends nights on end studying one specific moon until he understands the secrets it keeps.

In society and in combat, moonspeakers take the role of druids and other natural divine casters in native tribes. While not usually in a direct position of authority, their guidance and skill can protect or shatter a ruler's regime. Between their own abilties and the enhanced creatures that they can call down, they are a true force of nature.

Role: The moonspeaker takes the role of druid and capability of front line action that all shifters possess and blends the two. This prestige class particularly amplifies a druid's summoning abilities.

Table: The Moonspeaker

Class Features:

All of the following are class features of the moonspeaker prestige class.

Weapons and Armor Proficiency: The moonspeaker does not gain any new weapon or armor proficiencies.

Spells per Day / Spells Known: At the indicated levels, a moonspeaker gains new spells per day as if he had also gained a level in a spellcasting class he belonged to before adding the prestige class. He does not, however, gain other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for additional spells per day, spells known (if he is a spontaneous caster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting. If he had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a moonspeaker, he must decide to which class he adds the new level for the purpose of determining spells per day. Once this decision is made, it cannot be changed.

Ties to the Moon (Varies): Starting at 1st level, and every level thereafter, the moonspeaker draws a connection to one of twelve moons of Eberron. Once the decision of which moon has been made, it cannot be changed. Based on which moon is chosen, the moonspeaker gains certain abilities.

Aryth, the Gateway (Su): Tied to Aryth, the Gateway and Fernia, the Sea of Fire, the moonspeaker gains fire resistance 10. Also, the moonspeaker and any ally within 100' is under the effect of Endure Elements, but only against the effects of extreme heat. At 3rd level, the moonspeaker's fire resistance improves to 20 and improves again at 7th level to fire resistance 30. At 10th level, the moonspeaker gains immunity to fire. The moonspeaker cannot choose Aryth, the Gateway if he has already chosen Dravago, the Herder's Moon.

Barrakas, the Latern: Tied to Barrakas, the Lantern and Lamannia, the Twilight Forest, the moonspeaker class level stack when determining the level of any animal companion (if any) and the effects of the wild shape ability (if any).

Dravago, the Herder's Moon (Su): Tied to Dravago, the Herder's Moon, and Risia, the Plain of Ice, the moonspeaker cold resistance 10. Also, the moonspeaker and any ally within 100' is under the effect of Endure Elements, but only against the effects of extreme cold. At 3rd level, the moonspeaker's cold resistance improves to 20 and improves again at 7th level to cold resistance 30. At 10th level, the moonspeaker gains immunity to cold. The moonspeaker cannot choose Dravango, the Herder's Moon if he has already chosen Aryth, the Gateway.

Eyre, the Anvil (Su): Tied to Eyre, the Anvil and Xoriat, the Realm of Madness, the moonspeaker's natural attacks, and that of his animal companion, if any, count as byeshk for the purposes of damage reduction. The moonspeaker must be at least 5th level before choosing this moon.

Vult, The Warding Moon (Su): Tied to Vult, the Warding Moon and Dolurrh, the Realm of the Dead, the moonspeaker's natural attacks, and that of his animal companion, if any, count as Ghost Touch. The moonspeaker must be at least 5th level before choosing this moon.
