Description: This massive red and violet crystal is part of a set of 8 that work in unison to keep an entire country (in this case, Adar of southern Sarlona) protected hostile magics. While all eight are active, the entire country of Adar is protected by a constant Escape Detection (DC 33) and Divert Teleport with no saving throw, automatically beating power or spell resistance, target is the teleportation origin point if within Adar or the closest edge of Adar's boundaries if outside. However, this field of protection requires a great deal of energy. Each Shroud Resonator requires 5 power points to be voluntarily donated via touch as a full round action each hour on the hour or they will shut down. Powering it back up only requires another 5 power points and a full-round action, but as resonators shut down, the field around the country becomes spotty. For each resonator down, there is a cumulative 25% chance that the field will fail on any given attempt (checked separately).

As another level of protection, those that are in physical contact with a Shroud Resonator are not blocked by the Escape Detection effect it generates when scrying on others within the country, although they are still affected by the Divert Teleport effect.
