Diamond Dragon

Description:

To study the mind of a dragon, one must become like the dragon itself. Powerful, majestic and without par. One must strive to see the perfection in their movements, their flight, their awesome, terrible power. Few have the will to follow the great wyrms, but those that do are known as Diamond Dragons.

Role: Diamond dragons are manifesters that see the benefit in the martial skills and movement capabilities of dragons and seek to be more like them. Psions that follow this prestige class tend to be more aggressive then their contemporaries, by psychic warriors fit right in.

Table: The Diamond Dragon

Class Features:

All of the following are class features of the diamond dragon prestige class.

Weapons and Armor Proficiency: Diamond dragons do not gain any new weapon or armor proficiencies.

Powers per Day / Powers Known: At the indicated levels, a diamond dragon gains additional power points per day and access to new powers as if he had also gained a level in a manifesting class he belonged to before adding the prestige class. He does not, however, gain other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for additional power points per day, powers known and an increased effective level of manifesting. If he had more than one manifesting class before becoming a diamond dragon, he must decide to which class he adds the new level for the purpose of determining power points per day and powers known. Once this decision is made, it cannot be changed.

Dragon Powers: Starting at 1st level, and every odd level thereafter, the diamond dragon learns a new psionic power, even if it does not appear on his list(s) of possible powers known. These powers are in addition to any he would gain through number level advancement. They are as follows:

1st: Claws of the Beast (1st), Tail of the Dragon (2nd)

3rd: Induce Awe (2nd)

5th: Energy Cone (3rd)

7th: Flight (4th)

9th: Power Resistance (5th)

Bonus Feat: At 2nd level, the diamond dragon gets Quicken Power as a bonus feat. At 8th level, the diamond dragon can select any one metapsionic feat he qualifies for as a bonus feat.

Dragon's Speed (Ps): At 4th level, the diamond dragon does not need to expend his psionic focus when using the Quicken Power metamagic feat on either the Claws of the Beast, Induce Awe or Tail of the Dragon powers.

Dragon's Flight (Ps): At 7th level, whenever the diamond dragon manifests the Flight power, the diamond dragon does not need to expend his psionic focus when using the Quicken Power metamagic feat. In addition, the duration is automatically increased to 10 minutes per manifester level. The diamond dragon also gets an untyped bonus to his Fly skill equal to his class level, in addition to that from the Flight power.

Dragon's Mind (Ps): At 10th level, the diamond dragon becomes immune to sleep and paralysis effects. Likewise, the diamond dragon does not need to expend his psionic focus when using the Quicken Power metamagic feat on the Power Resistance power.
