By either ridicule or direct insult, you enrage the target dragon so that it focuses all of its aggression against you, all but ignoring your companions. This spell can only target creatures of the dragon type. In order to cast this spell, you must be clearly seen and heard by the dragon targeted and must maintain line of sight between you and the dragon at all times. If line of sight is ever broken, the spell ends prematurely. To determine if line of sight is broken, draw lines from corner to corner, as if you were determining cover. If you ever have cover (i.e. 1/2 visibility or less), the dragon is allowed another Will save to resist, up to once per round. If you ever have total cover, the spell automatically ends. Partial cover and the occasional ally interposing does not break line of sight.

So long as the spell is successful, the dragon will focus all of its aggression against you and only you. This does not limit the tactics or options the dragon can use, but each attempt to attack, deal damage or otherwise act offensively must include you as a target. Thus, a dragon can only target you with melee attacks or spells with individual targets, but only has to include you with others in the area of its breath weapon or other area of effect. This does not make the dragon helpless or otherwise ignore your allies. The spell only makes it so the dragon wants to kill you first.

If you have a Least Dragonmark (true or aberrant), you can expend one of its uses as part of the casting. If the spell is successful, the dragon also has a -5 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws and skill checks for the duration of the spell.

If you have a Lesser Dragonmark (true or aberrant), you can expend one of its uses as part of the casting. If the spell is successful, the dragon also has a -10 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws and skill checks for the duration of the spell.

If you have a Greater Dragonmark (true or aberrant), you can expend one of its uses as part of the casting. If the spell is successful, the dragon also has a -15 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws and skill checks for the duration of the spell.

If you have a Siberys Dragonmark, you can expend one of its uses as part of the casting. If the spell is successful, the dragon also has a -20 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws and skill checks for the duration of the spell.

Using one of the dragonmark options listed above does not increase the casting time of the spell. Only one option can be chosen per casting.
