By channeling the power of Irian, the plane of the Eternal Day (or the Positive Material Plane, in classic settings), you bring forth one ray of positive to heal the living or strike at the undead. Each ray is resolved with a ranged touch attack and either heals 2d8 points to creatures healed by positive energy or deals 2d8 points of damage to creatures damaged by positive energy. You gain one additional ray for every four levels above 3rd, to a maximum of 3 (so 2 rays at 7th level, and 3 rays at 11th level). You can target different targets if you have multiple rays from this spell, but all targets must within 30' of each other and all are fired simultaneously. Unlike the Cure or Inflict Wounds spells, you do not need to determine if the spell is for healing or damaging when you cast it. In fact, you can target one ally to be healed and target another undead he happens to be fighting to be damaged in the same casting.

Feats, traits or other modifiers that augment the amount of healing or damage dealt with positive energy that would normally be applied to Cure Wounds spells apply to this spell as well. In areas where the conjuration (healing) subschool does not work, neither use of this spell (healing or harming) works either.
