Notes

The main action of the sentence comes after ながら.

It is unnatural to use a punctual verb before ながら.

This sentence means: I think between trying to sit and putting your butt on a chair.

いすに座って考える。is natural.

I sit in a chair and think.

ながら cannot be used when the two actions are used by different subjects.
