After discussing with my husband, we decided to buy a car.
頑張って勉強した結果、試験に合格できました。

Notes
When 結果 is not followed by a particle, it can be interpreted as "as a result of" or "after / upon doing something".
Otherwise, 結果 is a common noun, as follows:
試験の結果は、来週わかります。
しけんのけっかは、らいしゅうわかります。
The result of the exam will be confirmed next week.
