Examples

あねは みちでころんだうえ、いぬに ほえられたそうだ。
Not only did my sister fall in the road, but she was barked at by a dog.
私の彼氏は優しい上にかっこいいです。
わたしの かれしは かっこいいうえに やさしいです。
My boyfriend is not only kind but also cool.
上司は私をほめた上に、お昼をごちそうしてくれた。

He is a school teacher and also volunteers on holidays.
