一方で（いっぽうで）
Meaning: on the other hand, while
①It is used to state additional explanation after mentioning one thing.
②It is used to when changing the topic and doing comparative explanation.
Formation
Verb + 一方で
いadj + 一方で
なadj stem + な一方で / である一方で
Noun + の一方で / である一方で
Examples①
大森さんはサッカーが得意な一方で、野球も得意だ。
おおもりさんは サッカーがとくいないっぽうで、やきゅうもとくいだ。
While Mr. Omori is good at soccer, he is also good at baseball.
内田さんは歌手である一方で、俳優でもある。
うちださんは かしゅであるいっぽうで、はいゆうでもある。
Ms. Uchida is a singer and also an actor.

会社の売り上げが下がる一方で、やることが増えた。
かいしゃのうりあげが さがるいっぽうで、やることがふえた。
The company's sales are declining, on the other hand we have more work to do.
外食する人が減る一方で、料理の配達を注文する人が増えた。
