・"Verb1 つつ 、Verb2" expresses concurrent actions by the same person.

×母が料理をしつつ、私はテレビを見ていた。

〇母が料理をしている間、私はテレビを見ていた。

I was watching TV while my mother was cooking.

・つつ is not used to describe everyday actions.

×私は今コーヒーを飲みつつある。

〇私は今コーヒーを飲んでいる。

I'm drinking coffee now.
