Meaning: look as if
ようだ expresses counter factual situations.
Formation
Verb + ようだ
Noun + のようだ
Examples
今は冬なのに暖かくて、まるで春のようです。
いまは ふゆなのにあたたかくて、まるではるのようです。
Even though it is winter now, it's warm and feels like spring.
あの子は色んなことを知っているから、まるで先生のようだね。
あのこは いろんなことをしっているから、まるでせんせいのようだね。
The child knows many things as if he were a teacher.
インドのお菓子を食べると、まるでインドにいるような気分になれる。
インドのおかしをたべると、まるでいんどにいるような きぶんになれる。
Eating Indian sweets make you feel like you are in India.
彼はいつもお笑い芸人のように面白い話をしてくれます。
かれは いつも おわらいげいにんのように おもしろいはなしをしてくれます。

The adverb まるで is often used to emphasize counter factuality.
The colloquial version of ようだ is みたいだ。
