As noted elsewhere in this guide when it comes to Reggae bands from the early seventies and albums it can become very frustrating. You know they have the talent - but it never seemed to materialize when it came to an album. Much later when various labels started to put together compilations - they too always seemed to get it wrong. Thankfully Dave Madden - the trumpet player of Zap Pow took matters into his own hands and put this magnificent set together. It's got the big hits ' This Is Reggae Music' and 'River' - but after

that it keeps away from trying to re-create those tunes. And concentrates on other important aspects of the band like songwriting - tunes like 'Scandal'. They had the talent

In the band - you only have to check 'The Last War' tune, which isn't on the album. Or better still 'System' which was on The Zap Pow Now album. But sadly isn't here.
