Jackie originated from the Bahamas. Talent is talent though, and Jackie had it in abundance and so Jamaica took him to there hearts.

Jackie worked with three producers during this time Coxsone, Justin Yap and Leslie Kong. His best known tune is 'Cry Me A River' which although not a Coxsone production- eventually ended up under his control.

Other great tunes include 'The Lord Is With Me' a driving gospel-ska tune full of conviction.

It was this ability to take well known themes and concepts - and then turn them into lyrics that made the man such a hitmaker. 'Mary's Lamb' is yet another great example of this. In combination with the likes of Doreen Shaffer, Rita Anderson and Hortense Ellis he was also very popular.
