Jah Lloyd/Jah Lion - Colombia Colly - Island - 1976
In 1976, Lee Perry, after many years in the business suddenly decided to release two DJ albums, one came from Prince Jazzbo - 'Natty Passing Thru' and was released on the Birmingham based Black Wax label. The other came from long time DJ Jah Lloyd, Scratch decided Jah Lion sounded better, and this is it. Both albums were immediately hailed as classics. And over the years they have somehow got better. Everytrack on this album as something of outstanding merit, but for most people the best track is 'Dread Ina Jamdong'.
Jah Lloyd - Soldier Around The Corner – Plum Jam 1992
Teem Records, Jah Lloyd’s own label, released about 6 cuts of the ‘Have Some Mercy’rhyhtm, and the same amount of the ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ rhyhtm. The former rhyhtm was originally a Lee Perry production, the latter came from Bunny Lee. These ‘lyrics for rhythms’ deals were done with other dj’s like Dr.Alimantado and Dennis Alcapone to name just two other dj’s, and produced some amazing results. Some of these can be found on this 22 track cd, which is a combination of ‘Soldier Around The Corner’ and ‘Herbs Of Dub’ both produced by Jah Lloyd/Jah Lion/ or Pat Francis (his real name) both albums were voiced and mixed at King Tubby’s in fine style.
