With so much happening in the Ska era, it’s easy to forget those who just stayed in those era’s for whatever reason. And they worked with all the best people as well. From top musicians like Roland Alphonso, Baba Brooks and Lester Sterling, to great singers like Lord Tanamo, Eric Morris, Bobby Aitken and Higgs & Wilson. His production sound seems to be more mellow than Coxsone - but just as intense.

More of the same, with the addition of great singers like Shenley Duffus, and vocal groups like The Charmers. It’s the quality of the songs. Higgs & Wilson’s ’Gone Is Yesterday’ sounds as good today as it did way back then. Likewise Shenley Duffus’s ’Digging A Ditch’ and Eric Morris’s ’Ungodly People’ these are reality songs in every sense of the word. Sung with great passion and with a message from the time, that is just as relevant today.
