Prince Mohammed – Inna Him Head – Joe Gibbs - 1979
Joe Gibbs never really had much luck with deejays. Even when he had a big hit – he could never build on it. Prince Mohammed should have changed that – he had a style that fused together people like Big Youth – with people like Dillinger and Trinity. And Joe – certainly had the rhythms – and at the time of this release he was big really really big. But still – it never happened. Even today decades later – it doesn't really make any sense. At least he kept trying.
Prince Mohammed – Bubbling – Techniques - 1982
Around about the time of this release it was apparent that Prince Mohammed was George Knooks - The singer. Its surprising that he didn't merge the two more like Big Youth and Briggy. But Prince Mohammed DJ style does not include any singing at all, and that is that. The man as got lyrics galore. And with a stack of Winston Riley rhythms to ride – he comes up with another great set. 'Stalag' is an amazing rhythm and Prince Mohammed does it great justice here. Winston Riley's production is firm as well. Its a shame he didn't produce more deejays.
