Jack Radics -Open Rebuke -Heartbeat -1994
Another major talent who was given a great push by Richard Bell. For most of the time, that's all it takes.Jack, had recorded an album for Island back in the late eighties which remains unreleased.
A talented singer/songwriter in the Junior Delgado style. Perhaps with a dash of southern soul thrown in. Its good to hear! And so are the lyrics written by this talented you. They are for the most part message lyrics. The title track being the best. But when Jack reaches for his Bible -he knows what he's looking for. Its a book that you can tell he's truly studied.'Psalm 72' is another great tune. Once again of course drawing inspiration from the Bible.Yet its not just the Bible that inspires him. Reality -everyday living comes into his lyrics over and over again.Tunes like 'Blood Dues' 'Time Run Out' and 'Puppet Master' which features Yami Bolo. Are all as good as the title track. This is truly another great work. And one that Richard Bell as the producer -would I'm sure be proud off as well. Jamaica music found its way again in the nineties -and Jack Radics was one of the torch holders.
