Singer Jennifer Lara dies 20th June 2005 female singer and Studio One

recording artiste Jennifer Lara has died. The 52 year-old Lara died in

the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) on Saturday, June 11, from an

apparent brain haemorrhage and high blood pressure. She is survived by

her two children- Ika and Sheka- both of whom live in the United

States. She joined Studio One in 1969 after leaving school. Her single

solo album for the label was Studio One Presents Jennifer Lara.

However, she did back-up vocals for a number of top artistes at the

label including the Ethiopians, Dennis Brown, Freddy McGregor and the

Jays.Lara toured frequently with the Ethiopians and was on the road

with them up to last year And also recorded albums with King Jammys

and High Times.Sincere condolences are sent by Small Axe to her family

and friends.
